A two year old bourbon, Toms Foolery is aged for this short time in a metal rickhouse lacking in temperature control, which creates a wide variety of fluctuating environments throughout the seasons.

Tom’s Foolery Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: A medium-light caramel in the glass, Slate, cotton candy, and cold day-old cornbread hit the nose at first blush. Next comes a certain powdered lemonade quality and creamsicle. The powdery sweetness of the nose betrays the younger, cornier elements of the dram.

Palate: Immediately on the palate, a wave of fluffy, sugary cakiness hits. Iron and leather follow, making for a devils food cake/blood sausage combo that is entirely unsettling.

Finish: On the finish, floral notes and hay mix with demerara sugar, giving a rosier view of the bourbon than may be fair.

Located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Toms Foolery is a craft distillery that produces three iconic American spirits: applejack, bourbon, and rye whiskey. Founded in 2008, this tiny distillery grows some of its own grain and fruit on a family farm, and has dedicated the past four years to amassing a major collection of filled full-size whiskey barrels.
