Tamdhu 12 Year Old is a single malt scotch whisky from the Tamdhu distillery, which was established in 1897. This expression was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2018 by Douglas Laing’s Old Particular range. It was aged for 12 years in a refill hogshead and bottled at natural cask strength of 48.40% ABV. The nose of this whisky is rich with aromas of creamy vanilla, caramel, toffee, raisin and dried fruit, along with hints of chocolate and spices. The palate is smooth and creamy, with notes of sweet honey, dried fruits, toffee and sherry, as well as a hint of smokiness. The finish is long and sweet, with lingering notes of dried fruits and spices. Tamdhu 12 Year Old is a fantastic whisky, with a complex flavour profile and a smooth, creamy finish. It is great for sipping neat or can be used as a base for cocktails.
