This whisky was distilled in 1993 and aged in sherry wood for 26 years before being bottled in 2019.

Sansibar Whisky is a German independent bottler, specialising in Scotch, Japanese whisky and rum. Founded by connoisseur, Jens Drewitz, he tastes and hand-selects almost every cask he purchases, on site at the distilleries. An impressive eye for quality, Sansibar have also supported other small independents, acting as the exclusive German distributor for Glasgow’s North Star, and Hidden Spirits in Italy.

Springbank 1993 Sansibar Japonism 26 Year Old Tasting Notes

Nose: There is a texture of an old bottle.
Baked bread, vanilla, condensed milk, tide, raw oysters, raw ham melon,
Slightly chemical pineapple, wild strawberry, peppermint.

Palate: In the mouth, it is powerful and freshness, with moderate sweetness and strong saltiness. Brinnie. You can also feel raw oysters and raspberries.

Finish: A strong and long finish. A dried woody feel and sweet condensed milk continue. Freshness and strength are different from the releases of yesteryear

Distillery Information

The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
