An aged white rum from Botran, produced in Guatemala. They age the rum in an ex-bourbon cask solera and then charcoal filter the spirit to remove the colour while maintaining the fruity woody flavour. It’s quite a dry rum and is packed full of flavour – combined with its lack of colour it’s perfect for mixing.

Like Botran’s other rums, the Reserva Blanca has been aged in a Solera system using ex-bourbon casks. However, after the maturation process, this expression has been charcoal filtered to remove the colour but keep the tasty, tasty aged rum flavours, and it was a success! All the rich oak and plump dried fruit flavours in a spirit that is perfect for cocktails. Result!

Ron Botran Reserva Blanca Guatemala Rum | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Sugared almonds, dried strawberry, a whiff of papaya.

Palate: Fruity at first (think strawberries again, now with banana and blueberries in support), followed by a heavy dollop of extra-thick double cream.

Finish: A subtle kick of cinnamon gives the finish a fleeting bit of heat.

Distillery Information

Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala is a Guatemalan alcohol distillery which produces different kinds of alcohol and which owns different brands. It was created at the beginning of the 20th century by Venancio, Andrs, Felipe, Jess and Alejandro Botran, who emigrated from Spain to start a distillery business. It is a private company and it is the biggest of the three distilling companies operating in Guatemala.
