Owney’s Original Rum comes to us from The Noble Experiment NYC, established by Bridget C. Firtle in 2012. Named in honour of Owen ‘Owney’ Madden, a Prohibition-era rum-runner and speak-easy proprietor, Owney’s Original Rum is crafted in Brooklyn with molasses from Florida and Louisiana. Impressive stuff, this – a fresh, grassy, vanilla-y nose leads to rich molasses, ripe fruit and spice on the palate, followed by a little touch of dark chocolate on the finish.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.

Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end.

Finish: The finish is surprisingly long and warming.
