Mezan Jamaica 2000 rum is a liquor from a distillery operating on the Long Pond Estate sugar cane plantation in the parish of Trelawny, Jamaica. It is a molasses rum, Wedderburn style, subjected to long fermentation using wild yeast. Distilled twice in a double retort alembic. Aged in American bourbon oak barrels, first for 3 years in the tropics, then for another 15 years in temperate European climates. Bottled in its most natural form – no dilution, coloring, filtering or added sugar.The content of barrel No. 3 was enough to fill only 246 bottles.
