Mezan Belize 2008 is a rum from a distillery in Belmopan, Belize. Molasses from local sugar cane is spontaneously fermented, followed by distillation in a three-column apparatus. The distillate was matured in heavily charred American bourbon oak barrels, first for 6 years in the tropics, then for the next 4 years in Europe. It was bottled in 2018 in the purest possible form – no added sugar, no dyes, no filtration, only after reduction to 46%. Limited edition to 5,500 individually numbered bottles.
