A second vintage of this single estate Grande Champagne Cognac from the excellent Hine, taken from a very small number of selected casks – for the 2006 vintage, only 19 barrels were used, all of which were refill French oak.
Hine Bonneuil 2006 Cognac | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Mixed peels and liquorice with hints of Parkin and honey developing. Dates and custard emerge from the background too.
Palate: Some minerality keeps things in shape, with rounded buttery cake, allspice, dried apricot, red apple and quince notes.
Finish: Shortcrust pastry, some citrus curd and cape gooseberries.

Hine Cognac is located in the heart of the Grande Champagne cru, right along the banks of the river Charente. The Hine story dates back to 1550 when the Hine family lived in Beaminster, Dorset, on the south coast of England.The family’s great Cognac journey was to begin in the 18th century: Thomas Hine, a linen merchant, and quite a Cognac connoisseur decided to send his son Thomas to France to learn French and the art of Cognac-making.
