Haiti Moon Collection Rum is distilled at the Barbancourt distillery in Haiti. It is true that Haiti’s national drink is clairin – a type of rum made from fresh sugar cane juice – but it is in Barbancourt that full-fledged rum is produced. It was created in 2004, based on fresh sugar cane juice, subjected to column distillation, and then put into oak barrels of American bourbon. It was aged in Scotland and bottled in 2012 in a limited edition of 1,800 individually numbered bottles.
