A 10 year old rum from the Don Papa range, inspired by the story of Papa Isio, who played a big part in the late-19th century Philippine revolution. It’s produced on an island in the Philippines, which is said to have one of the highest rates of ‘Angel’s Share’ evaporation in the world – making this 10 year old expression (aged in re-charred American oak barrels) all the more impressive.

Don Papa 10 Year Old Rum Tasting Notes

Nose: Powerful aroma with notes of raisins and cocoa.

Palate: Plenty of rich, aromatic dark chocolate notes, dotted with wafts of smoke, oak and juicy raisins.

Finish: A long, smooth finish.

Distillery Information

Don Papa was founded by then Rmy Cointreau executive Stephen Carroll. During a trip to Bacolod, Carroll heard stories of the area having the finest sugar cane in the world. Until that time, rum from the country had been distilled in other areas of the Philippines. He founded the Bleeding Heart Rum Company to manufacture the rum in Negros which is considered the sugarcane capital of the country.
