This limited edition was made available to Committee members, and from the distillery itself, it is predicted there were approximately 12,000 bottles. Let’s hope this distillery is around perpetually, as the name suggests, so it can continue to provide us with these fine releases.

Ardbeg Perpetuum 2015 Bicentenary Committee Release Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Tar, soot and pine resin leads to dark chocolate, treacle toffee, and a distant, nutty/oaky note. Water initiates fresh, briny sea-spray, linseed oil, and a pine resin/lime top note. Remarkably fresh for such a peaty whisky.

Palate: Intense, robust peat smoke, savoury smoky bacon, cinnamon and nutmeg, but also an incredible creamy, sweet vanilla/milk chocolate note.

Finish: The never-ending aftertaste sees more linseed oil (a hint of the Sherry Casks), creosote and tar, but understated, always gentle.

Ardbeg Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, in the Inner Hebrides group of islands. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Mot Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky.
