601 bourbon is a no-age-statement whiskey (the stated “aged less than 4 years” doesn’t provide real information) from Utica, New York, made from a high-corn mashbill. In fact, it is 100% corn, locally sourced, making it close to a corn whiskey, aside from the new barrel aging (corn whisky can only age in USED barrels, if aged at all). It is one of the few bourbons to use a single-grain recipe. This product is released in batches so variations may occur.

601 Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Big, untamed oak and raw grain dominate the nose, with sweet caramel corn.

Palate: In the mouth it is aggressive and unbalanced, again dominated by oak and a rough corn sweetness.

Finish: The finish is very brief, very dry, and again dominated by the oak.

Distillery Information

Tuthilltown Spirits Farm Distillery is New Yorks first whiskey distillery since prohibition, distilling some of Americas most prized spirits here in the Hudson Valley. Before Prohibition more than 1,000 farm distillers produced alcohol from New York grains and fruits. In 2005 Tuthilltown Spirits brought the tradition of small batch spirits production back to the Hudson Valley.
