• Wine Advocate: The 2021 Clarendelle Blanc offers up aromas of nectarine, green apple and pastry cream, followed by a medium-bodied, delicate and cleanly made palate, concluding with a saline finish.

• Vinous: The 2021 Clarendelle Blanc has a straightforward grapefruit and tropical-tinged bouquet. The palate is well balanced with fine definition and good acidity, but rather primal, with a fresh, quaffing finish.

Producer Information

Clarendelle is a Bordeaux wine brand created by the Dillon family and is part of the Clarence Dillon Wines group. It makes four wines from the classic Bordeaux varieties, chiefly Merlot for its red wine and Smillon for its white. The brand was established in 2005 by the Dillon family who also own other high-profile Bordeaux estates, most notably Chteau Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. The wines of Clarendelle are all designated from the greater Bordeaux appellation and include a red, a dry white, a ros and a dessert white made from fruit grown in several viticultural subregions. The red grapes Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are sourced from the Saint-milion, Haut-Mdoc and Pessac-Lognan regions and include fruit from the other Domaine Clarence Dillon estates. The white grapes Smillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc come mostly from Graves and Pessac-Lognan. A Pessac-Lognan-designated red wine has also been made in select vintages.
