        Reviews:

        • Wine Enthusiast: This is a serious ros, still young and tight. Its future and aging potential come from the wine’s density and beautifully perfumed character. With a little time, this will be a splendid wine.
        • Vinous: Pale orange-pink. A complex, intensely perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red berries, blood orange, lavender, chalky minerals and white pepper. Taut and sharply focused on the palate, showing superb definition and mineral lift to its juicy strawberry, pomegranate, orange zest, tarragon and floral pastille flavors. The mineral note drives an impressively long and sharply defined finish, which leaves resonating red fruit and floral notes behind.

        Producer Information

Chteau Minuty is a Provence winery in Saint-Tropez best known for its ros wines. Minuty was one of the Cru Classs of Provence designated in 1955 in an effort to classify top producers in the region and create a tiered system similar to Bordeaux. However, the classification never secured as much credibility as Bordeaux, and instead recognizes longevity over quality. Chteau Minuty’s ros wines are some of the best-selling ross in the United States. The estate has 65 hectares (160 acres) of estate vineyards in Saint-Tropez and 15 hectares (37 acres) in nearby Ramatuelle on the slopes of Val de Rians. Farming practices follow many organic techniques such as not using pesticides or herbicides, although Minuty has no formal organic certification. Grenache is the most important variety here, although Cinsaut, Syrah and Mourvdre also feature in blends and also appear as varietal wines. In 2009, construction was completed on a new tank room with temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks and a total capacity of 400,000 liters. Each individual vineyard block has a designated tank and is fermented separately. Minuty mostly makes Provence-designated wine but also has a range of Var IGP offers as well. The Ros et Or, Prestige Ros and the M Ros have become Minuty’s most recognizable wines, and are distributed in the US by Treasury Wine Estates. The success of the ros has led to more Grenache plantings which, along with Rolle, replaced Ugni Blanc and Carignan in the vineyards in the 1990s.
