Guado al Tasso has been produced since 1990. 2019 began with cool temperatures in April and May which slowed down the development of the vineyard. This delay is made up for thanks to the warm, dry conditions throughout the summer season, which enabled the grapes to reach an optimal ripeness. The colour is an intense ruby red. Rich, the nose reveals delicious fragrances of tobacco, liquorice and plum with hints of balsamic and coffee. Precise, the palate is seduced by this wines aromatic purity, its fine tannins and its persistent finish.

The 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Guado al Tasso is made with 25% Cabernet Franc, with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. That this heat-resistant grape now makes up a quarter of the blend speaks to how vintners are gearing up to counter climate change. These are intelligent choices, and you can count on this wine to maintain that level of extreme elegance and intensity that it is known for. Indeed, this is a new and improved Guado al Tasso with focused aromas of pencil shaving, white pepper and crushed stone that frame a rich core of black fruit. The Antinori family is one of the most authentic and historical names of the Italian wine industry. This family has been making elegant and heritage-rich wines for over six centuries now. Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Florentine Winemakers Guild in 1385, and his family has been making beautiful wines, since then.
