Ratings: WA | 86

Vintage: 1986

Size: 750ml

ABV: 13%

Varietal: Bordeaux Blend Red

    Country/Region: France, Bordeaux

The bouquet is deep, pure and utterly classical Figeac in its mix of red and black cherries, a touch of menthol, cigar smoke, chocolate, a lovely base of soil tones, black truffles, a whisper of vanillin oak and a topnote of nutskin.

        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: Fully mature, this somewhat disjoined, austere Figeac shows plenty of amber at the edge and a nose of creosote, ashtray, and tobacco notes along with some herbs and sweet currant fruit. The wine is elegant, but lacking substance, flesh, and texture.

          Producer Information

Chteau Figeac is one of the finest producers in Saint-milion and is just one of fourteen properties classified as Premier Grand Cru Class (B) in 2012, putting it firmly in the highest echelons of the region. Owned by the Manoncourt family since 1892, the history of this superb estate can be traced back to the Roman era and today spans 40ha. The majority of the grapes produced go into producing the celebrated first wine of the estate, Chteau Figeac, a classic style of Saint-milion with wonderful texture and tannic power. A small amount of the second wine, Le Petit Figeac is also produced.
