Producer Information
Albert Dervieux-Thaize was the mayor of Ampuis for many years and a character of influence who greatly helped to develop the notoriety of the wines of the region. In the early 1970s, he was the only producer with bottles of vintages like 1929 and 1947, a winemaker with a rare sense of historical perspective.
This estate do not exist anymore since 1989. It was at this time that part of the vineyard passed into the hands of the son-in-law of Mr. Dervieux-Thaize, a certain Ren Rostaing. The Rostaing estate, today considered one of the best in the Cte-Rtie appellation, brought together all of the Dervieux-Chaize vineyard in 1993.
Few connoisseurs today can claim to open a bottle from the Dervieux-Thaize estate. Indeed, after retiring, the winemaker shared his vines and also bequeathed part of them to his son-in-law Ren Rostaing, whose wines are today at the top of the appellation!
