Antonio Vallana e Figlio is a wine producer based in northern Piedmont. The estate is owned by the Vallana family who have been making wine in the region since 1787. Antonio Vallana is particularly known for its Nebbiolo-based wines made under the Gattinara and wider Piedmont appellations, but it also produces other native grape varieties like Barbera, Vespolina and Uva Rara.The vineyards are planted in iron-rich soils that, along with the area’s diurnal temperature variation, provide ideal grape-growing conditions. Grapes are hand-picked and vinified in cement tanks, and the wines age for approximately two years in oak barrels.
