        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: Call it a down year if you must, but the 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle remains one of the region’s top wines. Scents of tangerine, peach, crushed stone and lime zest mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is plump and juicy, finishing long and layered. The assemblage this year is 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Mourvdre and 5% Syrah.
        • Wine Spectator: Seamlessly stitches together jasmine, pink grapefruit, tangerine, rose water and a savory accent, with a subtle twinge of fleur de sel adding a counterpoint to the lengthy finish. Graceful, but with nice underlying tension throughout. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvdre. Drink now.

        Producer Information

In 1896, after a tour of Frances many vineyards, Marcel Ott, a young graduate in agronomy engineering, finally found an estate that inspired him. To set the scene, we are in Provence. The Mediterranean is lapping at the shore a mere stones throw away… In these parts, growing vines is the legacy of ancient times. Alas, a short while before Marcel Otts discovery, phylloxera had wreaked havoc on the vines. The land was cheaper, but the vineyards would have to be replanted. The wine had lost a great deal of its soul in the vineyards reconstruction. Marcel Ott bought several estates and began renovating them with the determined ambition to create great Provencal wines from noble grape varieties. Today, 120 years later, cousins Christian and Jean-Franois Ott dedicate their life to their ancestors love for the site. In 2004, Domaines Ott joined Louis Roederer and its fabulous selection of wine craftsmen. Christian and Jean-Franois run three estates: Chteau de Selle, Clos Mireille (both Ctes de Provence) and Chteau Romassan (Bandol). Each of these properties has its own individual charm and personality. Each can be proud of their extremely elegant ros, red and white wines.
