The Glenlivet 50 Year Old is a single malt whisky from The Winchester Collection, released in 2014. The whisky was distilled in 1964 and matured in hand-selected sherry casks. This rare expression has an ABV of 42.30%, and has a dark mahogany color. On the nose, it has a combination of dried fruits, toffee, and oak. On the palate, it has notes of raisins, spice, dark chocolate, and smoke. The finish is long and sweet, with hints of vanilla, toffee, and nutmeg. The Glenlivet 50 Year Old has been highly praised, and was awarded a score of 97 points from Whisky Advocate. It is an excellent example of an aged single malt whisky, and is sure to be an excellent addition to any whisky collection.
