Jean-Luc Colombo is a leading producer and negociant in the Rhne Valley, and is particularly associated with the Cornas appellation. For several decades he has acted as consultant to many top domaines in the Rhne, Provence and Bordeaux regions, and is also founder of the Centre Oenologique des Ctes du Rhne.Colombo’s career began with the purchase of a small plot of old vines on a granite hillside overlooking Cornas village itself. His first vintage of Cornas Les Ruchets in 1987 established his reputation.It remains his flagship wine, although it has since been joined by a further three Cornas cuves: Les Terres Brles; La Louve; and Vallon de lAigle. Colombo also makes a raft of regional wines through holdings and his negociant range from all northern Rhne titles and numerous other, more southerly, appellations.
