Producer Information
Chteau Fourcas Dupr is a wine estate in the Listrac-Mdoc appellation, 35km (22 miles) northwest of Bordeaux city center, in the wider Mdoc region on the left bank of the Gironde estuary. The estate produces a number of red and white wines and has occasionally released a ros.The chteau was established in 1844 and had been owned by the Pags family since 1970. In 2019, it was acquired by Breton businessman and hotel owner, Grard Jicquel. The chteau lies just north of the small town of Listrac-Mdoc, several kilometers southwest of Saint-Julien and a similar distance northwest of Margaux. The estate spans some 46 hectares (114 acres) on predominantly classic Mdoc gravel soils with a clay-and-limestone subsoil. The vineyard itself is composed of roughly equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (around 40 percent each) blended with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vines average over 30 years old.
