There were only a few vintage declarations in 1987, meaning there was little in the way of wines which were produced in this harvest year that were deemed to possess the acceptable characteristics of a Vintage Port. Luckily for us, Niepoort made one of those vintages, and the 1987 Vintage was produced, aged and bottled according to the regulations which define Vintage Port. It shows – this release exhibits wonderful bottle aged character and makes for a very fine wine.

Nose: Full-bodied aroma.

Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.

Finish: Perfect, long lasting finish.
